Cookies & browser storage
A short, honest list of everything Fancy Pet stores in your browser.
Last updated · 2026-06-01
The short version
Fancy Pet uses only the minimum browser storage required to make the site work. We do not use any analytics, advertising, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not set any cookies for marketing purposes. There is no consent banner because under GDPR/ePrivacy strictly-necessary storage doesn't require one.
What we store
- fancy-store (localStorage) — your gallery ID, the currently selected costume, your pet's name, and which currency you've chosen. Keeps your place if you refresh or come back later. Lives only in your browser; never sent to a third party.
- fancy-currency-detected-v1 (localStorage) — a flag set after we've detected your currency once, so we don't repeatedly ping our currency-detection endpoint on every page load.
Third-party cookies
On checkout pages where Stripe's payment form loads inside an iframe, Stripe may set its own cookies to secure your payment and prevent fraud. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We don't read them and we can't turn them off — they are essential for the payment to work safely.
How to clear it
You can clear everything Fancy Pet stores at any time by clearing your browser's site data for fancy.pet — usually under Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data. Clearing storage will sign you out of any in-progress gallery and reset your currency choice.
If we add analytics later
If we ever add analytics (Plausible, PostHog, similar) or any other non-essential storage, we will add a proper cookie consent banner first and update this document. We will not retroactively start tracking traffic before that consent flow exists.
